What is keto?

The ketogenic diet is a diet that aims to use fat as the primary fuel source for the body instead of glucose. This state of metabolism is known as ketosis. Ketosis can be achieved through a high-fat and low-carbohydrate diet. Ketones are the byproduct of ketosis and are often measured via urine, breath, or blood, to determine if an individual is effectively in ketosis.

Everyone will have a different carbohydrate threshold that allows them to remain in ketosis. This will depend on your size, activity level and other factors.

A ketogenic diet is not for everyone. We recommend consulting with a doctor to make sure this restriction is for you.
