Mujadara (Lentils and Rice)

with Cilantro Sauce & Toasted Pine Nuts

Mujadara (Lentils and Rice)
Vegan

Inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine, our Mujadara (Lentils and Rice) is a naturally plant-based meal brimming with flavor! We start by cooking brown jasmine rice with cumin, cayenne and a pinch of cinnamon. Then, the rice is layered with green lentils and topped with caramelized red onions, roasted red pepper and scallions. On the side, we serve a spicy cilantro sauce called “zhoug,” which is made with jalapenos, cilantro, garlic, lemon and olive oil. Lastly, a side of toasted pine nuts can be sprinkled on top for added crunch.
