The Science Behind Our Meals

Factor meals are designed with a mix of carbohydrates, protein, and fats for well-rounded nutrition. They also include an array of vitamins and minerals, which are essential nutrients for overall health.*

Carbohydrates:

Carbohydrates are found in fruits, grains, vegetables, and dairy, and can be categorized as either simple carbs or complex carbs. Simple carbs are quickly processed, while the body takes longer to digest and absorb complex carbs.

Proteins:

Protein is crucial for various body functions like hair growth, enzyme and organ function, and hormone production. When you eat protein, it breaks down into amino acids, which are essential for your body. There are 20 different types of amino acids. Nine of them are essential and can only come from food consumption, the other 11 are synthesized by your body.

Fat:

Your body requires dietary fat as a macronutrient for optimal health. Besides enhancing the taste and texture of food, fat is a valuable source of calories and energy. Essential fatty acids help support immunity, cell signaling, mood, and brain health.

Ingredients with Integrity

Out of 500+ reviewed ingredients, more than 160 have been banned for use in Factor products based on our team's extensive 5-step analysis.

Each ingredient brought to Factor follows an extensive process for approval that includes examining human health impacts, safety, efficacy, consumer expectations, and more. Deciding which ingredients are a "no" can be difficult, but we are committed to our ingredient standards and evolving with the ever-changing dietary landscape.

Our Ingredient Philosophy Applied

At Factor, we focus on utilizing whole-food ingredients with science-backed health benefits. These ingredients are carefully selected to provide a variety of nutrients and flavors to help you achieve your daily dietary needs.

Our registered dietitians—all credited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)—use nutrition research to set standards for all meals and add-ons. They give guidelines to our chefs for each dietary category during the development process. After creating new meals, our dietitians review and approve ingredients and overall nutrition. Working with chefs, they continually enhance the taste and nutrition of recipes based on customer feedback.
